This piece reflects the author’s concern about deforestation and loss of the trees on local and global scale. The choice of material used for weaving the piece: up-cycled papers, is important here, as the paper is derived mostly from fallen trees. 

The red metallic threads "bleeds out" from the paper structure in distress code - the Morse SOS.
